I recently posted about my use of the Gain Fitness iphone app to help me work out at the gym. I’ve also started doing pushups, thanks to dailymile’s new iphone app. The people behind dailymile created the new official iphone app version of the 100 pushups challenge.
The app is simply so easy to use. By placing the phone on the floor and doing the pushup towards the phone, it automatically keeps your count for each round. It keeps easy track of the time between rounds, and also reminds you when it is time to do the next workout. It automatically built my program for me based on my initial test, where I managed 20 pushups.
I’ve tried the 100 pushup program before, (back in Jan 2009 – wow my blog is old) but as lazy as it sounds, calculating the dates on my own and figuring out how many to do just became too much work and so I eventually gave it up after 2 weeks. I am hopeful that with the app reminding me at 7am on workout days that I’ll have a much better chance at success. So far for me it has only been the fit test and the first 2 workouts, so a long way to go.
We’ll see how it goes…
