Thinking ahead to 2009 a little bit. NYRR has released dates for Jan - March races. I'll most likely run the Fred Lebow 5 mile race, on 1/10. I love this race. It is the first race of the year (with the exception of the New Years Eve run), is usually around my birthday (1/9)
Sunday morning run
– Posted in: runningDragged my butt out of bed at 6:30 this morning and was out the door at 7:15 for a nice 10.3 mile tour of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. Have a full plate of familiy activites today, so my only real chance to get a 10 miler in was first thing this morning. Despite the cold
What is the weather in Austin in Feb?
– Posted in: Austin Marathon 2009 diet runningI have a few minutes to kill, so I'm sitting outside at Madison Square Park (awesome free wifi by the way), freezing, but catching up on email, blogs, etc. Hopefully I'll get a run in later tonight, but with the cold weather, I'm just kind of curious what the weather is like in Austin in
Winter is coming!

Can't really call it a snow flurry, really just a few flakes, but exciting. 10:15pm - running around the Stuytown loop, watching a few snowflakes come down. Again, can't even call it a
Catching up
– Posted in: runningIt feels like it has been forever since I last wrote in my blog. It's actually been 9 days, which is too long a break. It's just been hard to get the time to sit and write. Life is pretty hectic right now and it's hard enough just to find the time to exercise, let

However, there is still room for improvement, and

– Posted in: runningNice little 4.6 mile run last night. 44:28. First run since the marathon. For the most part, my muscle soreness seemed to have retreated, and I was itching to get out for some exercise. Took awhile to loosen up. Right hamstring was tight, which went away pretty quickly, and also I could feel the plantar fasciitis
Wonderful reflection of the marathon

New York City Marathon Race Report
– Posted in: Race ReportsWhat a great day. And long. Early to Rise My bus ticket read 4am. That is very early. I'm typically an early arriver at races (I was the one on the 6:30 ferry before the 9:40 Staten Island Half Marathon), but this is ridiculous. It was my choice though. Race organizers encouraged people to take
