Went out for a 4 mile run yesterday, and I definitely got the 'autopilot' feeling. The one where running feels very fluid, very consistent, and feeling like I could run for miles. I don't get there too often, but really enjoy it. My autopilot pace felt like around 9:30 per mile. Hope I can continue to [...]

In the Marathon, plus cynical thought of the day
April 27, 2009 – Posted in: New York City MarathonSpring marathon mania this time of the year. Boston last weekend, London and More (almost) this weekend, New Jersey next weekend, and tons others happening at this time of the year. So, figured I needed to get into the action too. It's official, I've dropped down the necessary $149 bucks (registration plus processing fee), and I'm [...]

Snow! And undecided on 2009 New York City Marathon
March 2, 2009 – Posted in: New York City Marathon weatherHad a nice snowstorm today. Maybe 7 or 8 inches in NYC. I love the snow. Love being out in the snow, driving in the snow, playing in the snow, digging out of the snow, etc. My kids both had snow days, but my office was open. So, I trudged into work in the snow. [...]

New York City Marathon Race Report
November 5, 2008 – Posted in: Race ReportsWhat a great day. And long. Early to Rise My bus ticket read 4am. That is very early. I'm typically an early arriver at races (I was the one on the 6:30 ferry before the 9:40 Staten Island Half Marathon), but this is ridiculous. It was my choice though. Race organizers encouraged people to take [...]
So close!
November 2, 2008 – Posted in: Uncategorized4:31:26. While I missed 4:30, I'm still very satisfied with the run. It was great. I'll write a full report later. It was close up until mile 23 or so. I had some knee pain and ended up running the last few miles more at 12 pace than 11-11:30, and that was the difference!
Some final thoughts
November 1, 2008 – Posted in: UncategorizedNew York City Marathon kicks off in 15 hours. Getting nervous about the race now. Not nervous about the distance, or my ability to finish it. This is my 9th marathon, and I know I can cover the distance. I'm nervous about my ability to finish in 4:30. It will not be easy. The stars [...]
