Running – 76.7 miles over 15 runs. The mileage was not as high as I would have liked, due to all the heat and humidity in July. I just can't take it. Many of my runs were only in the 4-5 mile range. But 76.7 is nothing to sneeze at, and my highest July total
Time to reset my training
– Posted in: Chicago Marathon ReflectionsI've had a bumpy road the last couple of months, with shingles, bad toe blister and then a bad cold. Also, had been triathlon training. My 2 summer tri's are done, and although I have another coming up Oct 3, my training focus now will be on the Chicago Marathon, which is 10-10(-10). Will definitely
New Jersey State Triathlon Race Report
– Posted in: Race Reports triathlonI raced in the olympic distance New Jersey State Triathlon on Sunday, which is held in Mercer County Park, in the south central part of the state, not too far from Princeton. It is the largest triathlon in New Jersey, and is very well run. They have a sprint on Sat and the olympic on
My Bout with Shingles
– Posted in: sickIt started with a tingling feeling in my back, exploded into a very uncomfortable rash, and then slowly got better after a few weeks. The 'it' was Shingles, and wow it was rough. Shingles is a re-emergence of chicken pox, caused by stress. You can only get shingles if you have already had chicken pox,

– Posted in: Month End SummariesThe last post on my blog was my April month in review. Life has seriously gotten in the way, and in addition, I've had 2 sub-par races (Rhode Races Marathon, Brooklyn Half Marathon), which I have had a very hard time writing the race reports for. Maybe I'll get back into it and finish them

At 375.5 miles for the year, I've already out run 4 entire years of my 11 years of detailed record keeping, only a third of the way into the year! Races
Last few days to Providence Marathon!
– Posted in: Rhode RacesJust in my final preparations for Rhode Races Marathon in Providence on Sunday. Two things about the race course so far that I love: Even though the marathon and half marathon are run at the same time, on the same day, and have the same start and finish lines, the courses completely diverge at 2.5
Checking in With Two Weeks to Go
– Posted in: Rhode Races runningRhode Races Marathon is coming up in less than 2 short weeks, and I'm feeling really ready. I've had mostly great runs, and have put in more miles before this race than any marathon prior. I overdid it in the last 2 weeks and then had a bad run on Saturday, but with a day
