Not for the first time, and certainly not for the last time, it is time for me to say that I’m ready for a new start. My lingering foot injuries I feel are almost all gone, and no better excuse than the New York City Marathon on Sunday to mark the start of my latest comeback.
Such fond (and terrible!) memories of running NYCM. I’ve done it 7 times, with my first in 1996. Sunday promises to be cold and windy with strong headwind for much of the race – I remember several just like that, and the hours long wait in the cold on Staten Island. I feel your pain. Best of luck to everyone participating!
So much has happened to me in the 10 months since I’ve last posted here. Perhaps I’ll find the time and energy to share some of it in the following days and weeks.
Anyway, Sunday I intend to go for a little run, and hopefully it will be the start of a new beginning, tentatively leading to a comeback marathon in May (at which point it will be 3+ years since my last), and ultimately the start of training for another run at cracking the 4:30 barrier 🙂
